The Chartered Institute of Operations and Supply Chain Professionals, CIOSCP, is an offshoot of the Institute of Supply Chain Management Professionals. The Governing Council of the Institute of Supply Chain Management Professionals deemed it fit to upgrade the Institute to Chartered-ship and broaden its scope with the name Chartered Institute of Operations and Supply Chain Professionals, CIOSCP.

The Chartered Institute of Operations and Supply Chain Professionals is focused on solving the challenges faced by most corporate entities in respect to:

  1. Sourcing of suppliers and raw materials
  2. Vendor management.
  1. The movement of raw materials from the suppliers to the purchasing entity.
  2. The processing of the raw materials to finished goods.
  3. The distribution of finished goods to the final consumers.

 

The Chartered Institute of Operations and Supply Chain Professionals deals with personnel who manages day-to-day operations of their organization or the entire supply chain of their organization or a particular aspect of supply chain or operations.

It is important to note that operations and supply chain professionals make vital key decisions to their organizations in respect to vendors, procurement, quality management, processing and manufacturing, warehousing, inventory management, logistics and transportation, packaging distribution.

The Chartered Institute of Operations and Supply Chain Professionals is a combination of operations and supply chain professionals. These two professionals are integral part of their organizations.

The Chartered Institute of Operations and Supply Chain Professionals, CIOSCP, is strongly of the opinion that it is unhealthy for corporate entities to have untrained or nonprofessionals to occupy the various department of operations and supply chain management. It is for this reason we deemed it fit to train personnel in operations and supply chain management in order to have organizations succeed in an uncertain and turbulent business environment.

The Chartered Institute of Operations and Supply Chain Professionals, CIOSCP, understands that the 21st century commercial activities have gone beyond producing, buying and selling. CIOSCP understood that when goods and services move, money also moves and also in the chains of businesses ranging from the suppliers of materials, processing of raw materials to finished goods and the distribution of the finished goods to the customers, there are uncertainties and risks that can be controlled or not be controlled. It is on this ground that corporate entities must ensure that their personnel are well trained and equipped to manage all the various chains of business activities.

1.CIOSCP shall be a professional body for those involved in all facets of supply chain management ranging from procurement, operations, supply chain management, inventory management, warehousing and store management, transport and logistics, vendor management.
2.To develop and enhance the quality standard and practice in operations and supply chain management.
3.To undertake research for the purpose of promoting and advancing knowledge in operations and supply chain management.
4.To collaborate and partner with other professional bodies and educational institutions with the aim to promote and advance the knowledge in operations and supply chain management.
5.To promote and maintain an ethical standard of professionalism among members.
6.To promote knowledge in operations and supply chain management through the platforms of seminars, conferences, workshops, symposiums, etc.
7.To promote the advancement of knowledge in operations and supply chain management by issuing bulletins, newsletters, journals and publications.
